Introducing Jamie Hale

Jamie Hale is the Founder and Director of Disability ACED. They are also the Artistic Director at CRIPtic Arts. This is an award-winning disabled-led arts organisation, and one of the three best small employers for disabled people in the country (Shaw Trust 2024).

Jamie has a background in research, training and coproduction. They have carried out extensive academic research involving coproduction. This has included sitting on the Adult Social Care Research Unit, and leading the Lewisham Disabled People’s Commission. In this role, they carried out some of the most in-depth research into disabled people in a single local authority ever. The impact of this work included the creation of a job role to take it forward in Lewisham.

Having led and managed teams for 15 years, Jamie is experienced in people management. They have a particular focus on supporting disabled people in the workplace. They often work with employers, supporting them to successfully manage disabled people. As part of this, they carry out HR policy and process reviews, interview disabled staff, and make recommendations to organisations on what can be changed.

At CRIPtic Arts, Jamie leads the organisation. Their focus is on the experiences disabled people have creating high-quality, artistic output, and the access associated with that.

They completed an MA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics of Health at UCL with a distinction. They are currently studying for a Level 7 in Strategic People Management for the CIPD.

Jamie Hale was listed in the Disability Power 100 as one of the most influential people in the entertainment industry.
